Adolf Eichmann was born March 19, 1906 in Solingen, Germany and then moved to Linz, Austria. In 1932 Eichmann joined Austrias' National Socialist movement and later became an SS officer in 1932. As an SS officer, Eichmann would serve as a corporal at the Dachau concentration camp. In 1934, he joined the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) and was assigned the duty of dealing with Zionist activites. Eichmann as director of the Gestapo's department of Jewish Affairs attended the Wannsee conference and was a key architect in the Holocaust.
