Occultism and the Nazi State

The history of occultism in Nazi Germany is complex.  Modern day fascination with the occult, paired with a pop-culture distancing from the reality of the Nazis as real, political entities in favor of transforming them into fictional creatures of their own (See “Call of Duty: World at War” Nazi Zombies level), has complicated the perception of the role occultism played in the Nazi Party.  While the occult was something a few select Nazis followed, it was far from an official policy.  Regardless, occultism would come to be associated with them through narratives created by others to further delefgitimize them after the war.
